Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e Estatística (IBGE) reports:

That the Broad National Consumer Price Index (Índice Nacional de Preços ao Consumidor Amplo (IPCA) registered a 0.65% variation in August, which was 0.54 percentage points below the July IPCA (1.19%).  The accumulated variation for this year reached 4.85%, below the 5.06% registered for the same period last year.  For the past 12 months, the index was situated at 7.46%, a notch below the 12-month result of 7.51% in the prior month.
