The
National Statistical Institute (INEGI, Instituto Nacional de
Estadística Geografía e Informática) reports:
In June. the
Monthly Indicator for Economic Activity (IGAE,
Indicador Global de la Actividad Económica) registered an increase
of 0.7% in real terms compared with the same
month last year.
According to seasonally adjusted data, economic activity added 0.19% over
the preceding month.
On a
sectoral basis, the results were as follows: Agriculture experienced a
decline of 1.1% compared to
June last year; industry dropped 0.7%
and the service sector advanced 1.7%.
INEGI
highlights the results are preliminary and do not comprise all activities
incorporated in the calculation of quarterly Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
Therefore, the results should serve only as a trend indicator or as an
indication about the direction of the economy in the short term.
