The
National Statistical Institute (INEGI, Instituto Nacional de
Estadística Geografía e Informática) reports:
In
August
of the current year, the monthly indicator for economic activity (IGAE,
Indicador Global de la Actividad Económica) registered an increase of
1.3% in real terms compared with the same period last year.
According to seasonally adjusted data, the economy dropped 0.15% in
August
over the preceding month.
On an
annual basis, agriculture declined 2.3%, industry increased
0.7% and
services grew 2.0%.
