The
National Statistical Institute (INEGI, Instituto Nacional de
Estadística Geografía e Informática) reports:
In
January, the trade balance incurred a deficit of US$ 282 million,
according to preliminary data. The deficit was well below
the US$ 1.2 billion deficit registered in December 2002. The annual
trade deficit dropped from US$ 8.0 billion in December to US$ 7.6 billion
in January.
