Note: Calculations are based
on government data, which are disseminated in millions of dollars covering
the operations of the budgetary central government, the autonomous entities
(extrabudgetary accounts), sectional governments (provincial and local
governments), the Banco del Estado (State Bank), the Instituto Ecuatoriano
de Seguridad Social (Ecuadorian Social Security Institute), and 90% of total
nonfinancial public enterprises, in terms of size of operations. (The State
Bank is included in the nonfinancial public sector since it is a government
lending fund.)
